1. Who we are

This policy explains how we use your personal data when you visit maisonforma.uk or buy from us, in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the Data Protection Act 2018 and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR). As we are established in France, the EU General Data Protection Regulation also applies to our processing.
2. What data we collect and why
- Orders: name, delivery and billing address, email, phone number (if provided), order details and payment status. We use them to process and deliver your order and to handle returns and complaints. Legal basis: performance of a contract (Article 6(1)(b) UK GDPR).
- Accounting and tax records: order and invoice data. Legal basis: legal obligation (Article 6(1)(c)). We keep these records for 10 years, as required by French accounting law.
- Customer service: the information you send us by email, phone or the contact form. Legal basis: contract or our legitimate interest in answering your request (Article 6(1)(b) or (f)).
- Website use: technical data such as IP address, browser, device and pages visited, needed to run and secure the shop. Legal basis: legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)).
- Newsletter: your email address, if you subscribe. Legal basis: consent (Article 6(1)(a)). You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email.
- Analytics and advertising cookies: only with your consent (see section 6).
3. Who we share your data with
We share your data only with service providers who need it to run our shop, acting on our instructions:
- Shopify International Limited (Ireland), our e-commerce platform and host;
- the carrier delivering your order (name, address, phone number, email);
- payment providers, depending on the method you choose: Shopify Payments for card payments, Apple Pay and Google Pay, and PayPal (Europe) S.à r.l. et Cie, S.C.A. (Luxembourg) if you pay with PayPal. Each provider also applies its own privacy policy;
- Google Ireland Limited, for audience measurement and advertising (Google Analytics, Google Ads), only with your consent.
We do not sell your personal data.
4. International transfers
Our business is based in France, so your data is transferred from the United Kingdom to the European Economic Area, which is covered by UK adequacy regulations. Some providers (for example Shopify or Google) may process data in Canada or the United States. These transfers rely on UK adequacy regulations (including the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework for certified US companies) or on the International Data Transfer Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
5. How long we keep your data
- Order and accounting data: 10 years.
- Customer service messages: up to 3 years after our last exchange.
- Newsletter: until you unsubscribe.
- Cookies: see section 6.
6. Cookies
We use cookies that are strictly necessary for the shop to work (for example your basket and checkout). These do not require your consent.
We use analytics and marketing cookies only if you accept them in our cookie banner. You can change your choice at any time through the cookie settings link on our website or in your browser settings.
7. Your rights
Under data protection law you have the right to:
- access your personal data;
- have inaccurate data corrected;
- have your data erased;
- restrict or object to our processing (including direct marketing, at any time);
- receive your data in a portable format;
- withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting earlier processing.

8. Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we use your data, please contact us first at contact@maisonforma.uk. We will acknowledge your complaint within 30 days and keep you informed of the outcome.
You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire SK9 5AF, ico.org.uk, helpline 0303 123 1113. As we are established in France, you can also contact the Commission Nationale de l'Informatique et des Libertés (CNIL), 3 Place de Fontenoy, TSA 80715, 75334 Paris Cedex 07, France.
9. Children
Our shop is not intended for children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
